Tribune's All-Pasco County Football Team

This is a look at The Tampa Tribune's All-Pasco County Football Team.

First Team


QB James Pensyl, Jr., Land O' Lakes: Arguably one of the area's best passers, Pensyl threw for 2,345 yards and 22 touchdowns — while running for five more — while having only three interceptions and a 104 QB rating.

RB Nathan Johnson, Jr., Sunlake: The Sunshine Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year rushed for 1,504 yards and 16 touchdowns that carried the Seahawks to their second postseason appearance.

RB Glass Wilson, So., Ridgewood: Rushed for a county-high 1,514 yards, plus added 14 touchdowns as the Rams main offensive threat.

WR Javin Tandy, Sr., Land O' Lakes: One of the Gators top targets for Pensyl had 611 yards and six touchdowns, including one for 93 yards, on only 19 receptions and added two rushing touchdowns.

WR Devon Brockington, Sr., Zephyrhills: With 437 yards and seven touchdowns on 23 receptions, Brockington was also a rushing (291 yards, 4 TDs), return (349 yards) and defensive (INT, 46 tackles) threat.

WR Trenton Soto, Jr., Fivay: Led the Falcons surprising pass attack with 29 catches for 627 yards and seven touchdowns.

TE Liam Heaney, Sr., Land O' Lakes: Pensyl's 6-foot-3, go-to target had a team-high 48 receptions for 690 yards and six touchdowns.

OL Tommy Speer, Sr., Sunlake: At 6-foot-3, led a big offensive line that paved the road for Johnson's yards and touchdowns and more than 2,000 rushing yards overall.

OL R.J. Scaife, Sr., Pasco: At 6-foot-6, the Western Kentucky-commit led a young but big offensive line that grew up fast and helped the Pirates to 34 offensive touchdowns.

OL Jordan Ferrante, Jr., Land O' Lakes: Led the line that protected Pensyl and the Gators' hyperfast, hurry-up offense that produced 3,468 total yards and 36 touchdowns.

OL Robbie McCarty, Sr., Hudson: Helped pave the way for running back Noah Siegrist's 1,400-yard season, plus added 24 tackles and a sack on defense.

OL Andreas Spirou, Sr., Ridgewood: Led the Rams offensive line that cleared the way for Wilson's big season, plus added 47 tackles and a sack on defense.


ATH Malik Johns, Sr., Pasco: Played nearly every position — running back, quarterback, receiver, defensive back, return specialist — racking up 1,832 all-purpose yards and 22 total touchdowns in the process.

K Bryce Wilson, Sr., Wiregrass Ranch: Racked up 61 points with a county-high 13 field goals and 22 extra points, plus kicked a 45-yard field goal and had a 37.41 punt average.

P Zachary Gleaton, Jr., Zephyrhills: A SAC first-team selection with a 38.10 punt average, including one for 55 yards.


DL Jacob Morphew, Sr., Pasco: The Pirates may have had only 23.5 sacks, but Morphew had a county-high 11 of them as the defensive leader also had 78 tackles (12.5 for a loss) and three forced fumbles.

DL Zion Osborn, Sr., Sunlake: Grabbed a team-high 10 sacks and 78 tackles on a defense that had 41 sacks and 21 turnovers.

DL Devonte Luis, Sr., Anclote: On a team with 44.5 sacks, had a team-high eight, 10 QB hurries, 50 tackles, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.

DL Darius Wells, Sr., Land O' Lakes: Racked up 6.5 sacks, 60 tackles, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble for the Gators.

LB Shaheed Salmon, Sr., Land O' Lakes: A 6-foot-2 wrecking ball that racked up a team-high 117 tackles, 8.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles, a blocked FG, four pat downs and three interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.

LB Ben Wood, Sr., Sunlake: Racked up a team-high 111 tackles and 10 sacks while leading the county's best defense that allowed only 78 points and posted four shutouts.

LB Colin Irwin, Sr., Land O' Lakes: A first-team SAC selection had 116 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery.

LB Willie Barrett, Sr., Anclote: Was a ball hawk for the Sharks with a team-high three interceptions and also 92 tackles, which was still secondary to his 1,092 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on only 162 carries.

DB Devin Duckett, Sr., Wiregrass Ranch: The Sunshine Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year had a county-high eight interceptions, eight pat downs, 43 tackles and a fumble recovery.

DB Deionte Strozier, Sr., Land O' Lakes: Not only had a team-high five interceptions and seven pat downs, but 47 tackles and a sack.

DB Joe Jean-Baptiste, Sr., Sunlake: Had two interceptions, eight pat downs, plus added a fumble recovery, a blocked extra point and 50 tackles.

DB Dan Mason, Sr., Mitchell: Not only had 92 tackles, but two interceptions, six pat downs and four fumble recoveries.

About the team

The Tribune's All-Pasco County football team was selected by correspondents Mike Camunas and Andy Villamarzo. The team was selected based on regular-season and postseason performances. The Sunshine Athletic Conference team selected by the county's coaches was strongly considered. The Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year and Coach of the Year will be announced at a later date.
