Principal set to launch 2nd school

LAND O' LAKES - Angie Stone, principal at Sunlake High School, is expected to be named principal at Fivay High, a new school opening in August. The Pasco County School Board is scheduled to vote on Stone's transfer Tuesday, Assistant Superintendent Jim Davis said. Fivay High is under construction off State Road 52 near Chicago Avenue in northwest Pasco. The school is drawing students from Hudson, River Ridge and Ridgewood high schools. Opening a new school is familiar territory for Stone, who did the same in 2007 at Sunlake High in Land O' Lakes. Before taking the Sunlake job, Stone was principal at Hudson High.
She also served several years as an assistant principal at Zephyrhills High. Stone started her career in Pasco County in 1994 as a science teacher at Zephyrhills. She holds a bachelor's degree in science education from the University of Tennessee and a master's degree in administration and supervision from Tennessee Tech University. The district now will begin the task of finding a new principal for Sunlake High.
