TAMPA — A Hillsborough County School District cafeteria worker was arrested Wednesday on a charge of felony child abuse, according to Tampa police.
Yomesha Campo, 25, faces a felony charge of cruelty toward a child without great bodily harm, a felony. She was held at Hillsborough County Jail without bail. Campo is employed by the school district as a cafeteria worker, according to jail records.
Campo struck a child with some kind of cord that left a bruise about an inch wide and five inches long in the center of the child’s back, according to the arrest report. There was also bruising along the child’s tail bone area, police said.
The incident was classified as domestic violence, according to records. The victim was not identified by police. Campo was being held Wednesday in the Hillsborough County jail without bail.
