Scott appoints prosecutor, Clearwater lawyer to Pinellas-Pasco judicial vacancies

Gov. Rick Scott appointed two Tampa Bay lawyers to fill judicial vacancies in the Pinellas-Pasco circuit, his office announced Friday.

Christopher LaBruzzo, 42, is an assistant state attorney at the Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney’s Office. A Tulane University School of Law graduate, he will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge John A. Schaefer.

Frederick Pollack, 45, is a partner at Hunter Law, P.A. in Tampa. He previously served as a family law general magistrate and child support hearing officer for the Pinellas-Pasco circuit. Pollack fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Mark I. Shames.

LaBruzzo and Pollack will be assigned to family law court in Pinellas County.
