The self-proclaimed Uber of lawn care is expanding in Tampa Bay

The lawn-mowing service GreenPal, which claims to be the Uber equivalent for lawn care, is extending its service across the Tampa Bay area.

GreenPal, which already serves parts of Tampa, announced homeowners in Clearwater can begin booking professionals to mow their yards through a mobile app.

The Nashville-based company currently serves more than 30 major U.S. cities, acting as a middleman between homeowners and pre-screened lawn professionals.

Customers can list their lawns with a requested service date and lawn-care needs, which then leads professionals to bid on the yard. Customers usually start to receive bids less than 15 minutes after their yard is posted, according to GreenPal’s website.

The lawn care professionals can plug the address into Google’s street view so they can see the size of the yard.

Customers can choose to receive bids via text or email. Once it is selected, the company says it usually can have the yard mowed by the next day — unless its scheduled to be mowed on a later date.

Once the yard is mowed, the lawn-care professional is prompted to send a time-stamped photo of the completed yard, the release says. Customers can pay for the service and schedule future times through the app.

Prices will vary based on the size of the yard and other factors.

GreenPal offers service in Orlando, Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa. Outside Florida, it’s in Nashville, Tennessee, Atlanta, Georgia, Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth in Texas and St. Louis, Missouri among other cities.
