Art lovers and cheapskates, rejoice!
Polk Museum of Art is now offering free admission year-round.
Regular daily admission was $5 for adults, $4 for seniors age 62 and up at the the museum which hosts collections featuring modern and contemporary art, Asian art, pre-Columbian art and European and American decorative arts.
Temporary gallery exhibitions include “African American Art Since 1950: Perspectives from the David C. Driskell Center” and “Dual Abstraction” works by Tinia Clark and Gregory Jones.
The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Beginning June 1 until September 1, the museum will be closed Sundays.
The Polk Museum of Art is located at 800 E. Palmetto St., Lakeland.
