Evan Peters is probably best known for playing a reanimated fraternity bro who was pieced together Frankenstein-style by a coven of witches on “American Horror Story,” but by the time he's signing autographs in Tampa, he'll have a lot more geek cred.
Peters, who plays Quicksilver in the upcoming superhero film "X-Men: Days of Future Past," will be among the celebrity guests at Tampa Bay Comic Con at the Tampa Convention Center Aug. 1 to 3.
Other confirmed guests include actresses Caity Lotz (“Arrow,” “Mad Men”) and Chloe Bennet (“Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Nashville”).
“We have a lot more guests to announce. We're just getting started!,” Stephen Solomon, a partner in the Action3 events company that operates Tampa Bay Comic Con, said by e-mail.
Photos and autographs with the actors will range from $30 to $40 each.
Peters has also appeared in the films “Kick Ass” and “Never Back Down.” “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is set for a May 23 release.
Comic book artist guests attending the convention will include Dave DeVries (“Fleer Ultra, “Monster Engine”), Mike Grell (“Green Arrow,” “Iron Man”) and Rev. Dave Johnson (“100 Bullets,” “Deadpool,” “Captain America”).
Tampa Bay Comic Con drew close to 20,000 visitors in 2013, the first year it moved from a smaller venue into a 75,000-square-foot space in the convention center.
Single-day tickets for this year's convention are $20. A pass for all three days is $45. Tickets are on sale now through tampabaycomiccon.com.
