You no longer have to leave your house to eat Chick-fil-A, and you may even be rewarded for it with free food, too.
Chick-fil-A announced Tuesday it will give away up to 200,000 classic chicken sandwiches to customers who place a $5 minimum delivery order through a partnership with the food delivery service DoorDash.
While customers can purchase food from multiple restaurants using DoorDash, which is similar to Uber Eats, the company has an exclusive partnership to deliver Chick-Fil-A.
The free sandwich deal will be offered at 1,100 Chick-Fil-A locations and will be available from now until Nov. 20 to customers who use the promo code "CFADELIVERY" on DoorDash's app or website after 10:30 a.m.
The giveaway will only be available to customers who live within a 10-mile radius of a Chick-Fil-A. The companies say this is so they can "maintain both DoorDash's commitment to high-quality service and Chick-fil-A's food quality."
The announcement of the partnership comes a year after Chick-fil-A began a pilot-delivery program with DoorDash in select locations.
During the pilot, Chick-fil-A said 98 percent of respondents who used DoorDash during the pilot said the food they ordered was consistent with what they expected from Chick-fil-A. It also said orders peaked during dinner hours, on inclement weather days, and near hospitals and universities.
"So many of our guests' busy lives and family commitments have them strapped for time," Jon Bridges, Chick-fil-A senior vice president and chief marketing officer, said in a news release. "If they're unable to come to us, we'll come to them."
