The gas price roller coaster isn't over. According to AAA, the Auto Club Group, the average price for a gallon of gas in Florida could climb as much as 10 cents this week.
"Both planned and unplanned refinery maintenance, rising demand and the switch to summer gasoline continue to contribute to the seasonal springtime jump at the pump," said AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins in a news release. "Based on current conditions, gas prices will likely peak sometime between Cinco de Mayo and Memorial Day weekend."
The Sunshine State's gas prices were $2.62 a gallon on average for regular unleaded Monday, up about one cent over the week. Tampa Bay prices were $2.57 a gallon Monday, down three cents over the week. Nationally, gas was $2.63 a gallon.
