Three teenagers charged in Brandon graffiti spree

A nearly yearlong graffiti spree by three teenagers ended when a business caught one of the suspects spray painting on a wall in the Brandon area. Luis Alexander Lopez, 18, of 406 Elm Tree Lane, Brandon, was arrested Wednesday and faces 11 counts of criminal mischief with damage estimated at $200 to $1,000. He is being held in the Hillsborough County Jail on $5,500 bail. Also, a 14-year-old juvenile faces three counts of criminal mischief in the case, and a 17-year-old juvenile faces 11 counts of criminal mischief. From May 19, 2012, to Monday, deputies had seen graffiti tags on street signs, traffic boxes, walls of businesses, fences and a utility trailer in the central Brandon area, the sheriff’s office said. The tags were removed as they were discovered.
The suspects used the tags "Swingset," "Dash," "Krast" and "Rayek." Deputies investigated 13 complaints of graffiti throughout the central Brandon area.
