O’Brien’s in Brandon raises $4,000 for cancer with Duckie Derby
BRANDON - Members of O’Brien’s Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies, a fundraising team sponsored by O’Brien’s Irish Pub in Brandon, released rubber duckies onto an aquatic racetrack during the second annual Duckie Derby held May 4. Derby participants purchased one or more duckies for a chance to win the grand prize—a trip for two to Hawaii, sponsored by O’Brien’s. The event raised $4,000 for the Moffitt Cancer Center’s annual fundraising event, Miles for Moffitt, with more than 200 people in attendance. The Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies also held a garage sale, a Celtic Festival and a Bowling Tournament, raising a total of more than $25,000 for Miles for Moffitt. For information about O’Brien’s Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies and the Ducky Derby, visit duckcancer.com.
