Corks & Forks 2013 supports YMCA programs

VALRICO — The YMCA’s main fundraising event, Corks & Forks, will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the Campo Family YMCA, 3414 Culbreath Road. Because the theme is A Night of Stars, the evening’s events will happen outside, on the swimming pool deck.

Local restaurants will provide food, and there will be a live auction, drawings and a charity casino.

All of the proceeds will fund scholarships for children and families undergoing financial hardship. The funds enable them to take part in programs such as summer camp, swim lessons and Livestrong at the YMCA, for cancer survivors and their families.

Cindy Sofarelli, senior group vice president for the Tampa YMCA, said, “Every year, guests come to this fun and exciting event, confident in knowing their contribution will have a direct impact on kids and families in the Greater Brandon area. The dollars we raise at events like Corks & Forks ensure we keep our doors open to everyone in the community — regardless of age, income or background.”

Tickets for this adults-only evening are $75 per person, $25 per military personnel and guest. Prices include food, beer, wine and entertainment.

Tickets are available online at http://is.gd/ hdkXCw.
