$ki Mask the Slump God is a musical hip-hop artist who has gained a lot of momentum over the past year. From making this year’s XXL cover and getting millions of views and plays on various platforms including YouTube and Spotify, he has come a long way from posting short snippets on SoundCloud.

$ki as an artist brings lots of energy to his performances and expresses love for his fans, evidenced as he engages with the crowd. But this current tour has definitely taken a toll on him. The shocking and notable death of fellow artist and close friend, XXXtentation coupled with the tragic death of a fan earlier in the tour has frustrated and tested $ki’s public persona - rowdy crowds have certainly added to the mix.

At Saturday’s show at The Ritz Ybor with his deejay, DJ Scheme, $ki iterated several times for everyone in the crowd to: “Watch out for each other and share the water that’s being tossed out, and don’t touch my du-rag, and we good!” Fans who didn’t cooperate where called out by $ki and Scheme and promptly removed from the venue. Even though he said he was concerned with safety, $ki still brought a hurricane of energy to The Ritz, including, jumping off the balcony at one point and inciting several mosh pits despite The Ritz’s no moshing rule. With Sunday being the last show of the tour in Miami, $ki will be taking a break from this tour life, until he releases new music for us all to rage too.
