Today will start out cooler and windy but turn into a really nice day with drier air, a welcome break from last week’s rains.
The high this morning was about 66, according to Jeremy Eisenzopf, meteorologist at News Channel 8. He expects the high to be about 74 at noon and then 77 this evening.
Eisenzopf added the weather will be cooler near the beach. The highs will be closer to 80 inland.
He said there is a slight chance for rain tonight.
The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of more than 15 mph with gusts to 25 mph in the afternoon. The agency also reminds people that there is a moderate to high rip current risk at the beaches.
Boaters need to be alert with a small craft advisory in effect today.
