Spring break is over for Hillsborough County students, and so is our ideal sunny weather.

A slow-moving front has settled over the Tampa Bay area, producing muggy conditions, clouds and off-and-on rain throughout the day and into the work week, according to News Channel 8 meteorologist Megan Hatton.

Showers are moving in from the Gulf of Mexico early this morning, with stronger rain in Citrus and Hernando counties, and spotty showers inland.

Temperatures will warm to 78 this afternoon under mostly cloudy skies, with lows in the high-50s to low-60s.

The rain will become more widespread tonight into Tuesday morning, with chances of fog increasing for the morning commute.

The week overall will be warmer, with lows near 60 and highs in the mid- to upper 70s. The chance of rain remains 20 to 30 percent through the week.
