The recent taste of cold air around the Tampa Bay area is gone, replaced by warmer temperatures and a chance of rain later this week.
Temperatures are running in the mid- to upper-60s this morning, and highs today will run 5-7 degrees above normal, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Highs today will reach the low- to mid-80s with extra cloud cover. The warmer temperatures continuing into the weekend — fueled by breezy easterly winds coming in off the Atlantic Ocean and higher humidity.
Tonight’s lows will be in the mid- to upper-60s.
A cold front later this week could create a 20 percent chance of showers, but it will stall before it brings cooler temperatures.
