Tampa-area residents attending outdoor events, such as tonight’s high school football games or the Jason Aldean concert at the MidFlorida Amphitheatre, should be prepared to get a little wet tonight.
Another round of strong afternoon thunderstorms, along with potentially dangerous lightning, could arrive in the Tampa area by early evening, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
The storms will begin inland and move west, reaching the coast tonight.
Before that, skies will be mostly sunny with highs approaching 90 before the 50 percent chance of storms arrives later today.
The storms will taper off tonight.
Similar conditions will be in effect Saturday, but rain chances drop to 40 percent on Sunday.
