A cold front, that brought rain and flooding to areas of the Deep South, is bringing gusty winds and possible heavy storms as it makes its way through the Tampa Bay area today.
The front is expected to sink toward the I-4 corridor by lunchtime, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Some pockets of heavy rain are possible, with sustained winds of 15-20 mph, and the region could pick up at least an inch of rain.
The front is expected to pass the immediate Tampa area by this afternoon. Rain chances are 80 percent, with highs reaching only the low-70s and lows in the low-50s as the front will bring cooler air through Wednesday.
Highs on Wednesday will be in the low-70s with gusty northerly winds.
A gradual warming trend will take temperatures back to the low-80s heading into the weekend.
