One more hot afternoon is on tap for the Tampa Bay area before a front approaches tonight, increasing rain chances tonight and bringing scattered showers through the weekend.
Overnight rain has created humid conditions this morning and mild temperatures in the low-70s, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Today’s high will be in the upper 80s, with a 20 percent chance of storms – mainly in inland areas.
The rain chances increase tonight as the front approaches.
The front will stall over the region this weekend, creating a 50 percent chance of scattered storms and temperatures only approaching 80 through Sunday.
Once the front passes, temperatures will return to the mid-80s to start the work week.
