A weak cold front just to the north will fuel rain chances around the Tampa Bay area the next couple of days, but a much stronger one will give us a strong taste of fall later this week.
After a muggy morning, temperatures will climb well above average today, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Highs will approach 90 under partly cloudy skies, with a 20 percent chance of rain mainly along I-75. Lows will dip only into the low-70s.
Patchy fog is possible Tuesday morning, and rain chances remain into Wednesday. But a strong cold front — bringing below-freezing temperatures to some areas in the Midwest — will drop temperatures into the low- to mid-80s with lows into the low-60s.
Those seasonal, pleasant conditions will last into the weekend, bringing cool mornings, sunny skies and lower humidity.
