Polar vortex? What polar vortex?
While much of the rest of the country is looking forward to a break in the temperatures this week, Tampa in July continues to feel a lot like Tampa in August. Highs are expected to range from the upper 80s to low 90s through the weekend, with the humidity hovering around the unbearable mark.
Scattered overnight thunderstorms should give way to clearer skies by 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, before more storms return mid day, WFLA-TV meteorologist Steve Jerve said.
Cloudy skies will keep the high in the mid 80s on Wednesday afternoon Jerve said, with about a 60 percent chance of rain across the Tampa Bay area.
Thursday will bring more storms, Jerve said, before rain chances drop to only 20 percent for Friday and Saturday.
