It will be mostly sunny today in the Tampa Bay area, but a weak cold front will bring a slight increase in rain chances this weekend.
“It’s going to be above-average temperatures all weekend,” said News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann.
That means lows today in the low to mid-70s and highs in the upper 80s, according to the National Weather Service.
Morning drivers should use caution amid patchy fog.
The cold front is expected to fizzle around north Florida, but it will still affect rain chances over the weekend.
On Saturday, rain chances will be about 20 percent, with the best chance in the afternoon and evening. On Sunday, forecasters nudge the rain chances to about 30 percent. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy.
Don’t expect any true fall-like weather until later in the week. The weather service forecast calls for an increased rain chances midweek, then Wednesday lows in the high 60s and highs in the low 80s.
