As winter approaches, the Tampa Bay area gets another day of chill, but when the season arrives this weekend the weather should be far more Florida-like.
That means local residents must endure another day in jackets and sweaters, with lows in the 40s. If you’re in Hernando County and other northern counties, it’s in the 30s, with a morning frost advisory.
But dress in layers, advises News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann. Sunny skies today will get much of the region in the mid-60s by noon, with highs around 70.
Another cool night gives way to a warm-up by Wednesday afternoon, Spann says, and by Thursday temperatures will be more typical for this time of year.
Temperatures gradually go up late in the week, and by Saturday — the first day of winter — highs will be around 80.
