Much of the Tampa Bay area is under a dense fog advisory until 9 a.m. ahead of a cold front that will bring increased rain chances this afternoon through Wednesday.
The fog is thick in some areas, though not as widespread as on Sunday, Storm Team 8 meteorologist Megan Hatton said.
The fog will linger in coastal communities today, with warming throughout the day under early sunny skies.
However, clouds will build through the afternoon with scattered showers developing as a cold front moves into the area, Hatton said.
There is a 40 percent chance of rain today with highs in the mid-70s along the coast to the low 80s inland.
The rain chances will increase to 60 percent on Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures reaching the mid-70s and lows in the mid-60s.
Pleasant conditions will return Thursday with temperatures only reaching the low-70s, before warming to near 80 by the weekend.
