A high-pressure system continues to be in control over the Tampa Bay area, meaning blue skies and warm weather heading into the weekend.
After a cool morning and some possible patchy fog, highs today will reach the upper-70s under mostly sunny skies, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Lows will drop into the mid- to upper-50s.
The gradual warming trend extend through Thursday, with mostly sunny skies and highs flirting with 80, until a stalled cold front arrives later this week. It won’t drop temperatures, but will create some unsettled weather with added clouds and humidity, and slight rain chances heading into the weekend.
