The Tampa Bay area will have to endure one more day of above-average rain chances, before more seasonal conditions return this weekend.
An upper-level low-pressure system is moving north in the Gulf, producing a chance for coastal showers early today and pockets of heavy rain tonight, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
There is a 60 percent chance of rain today, with highs approaching 90 and the rain lingering into the overnight hours.
After the front passes, more typical summer weather will return to the region this weekend, with afternoon thunderstorms and highs near 90.
The work week will be even drier and warmer.
