Some Tampa-area residents will encounter another soggy start today as a wide swath of rain is producing a light drizzle, ahead of another round of thunderstorms this afternoon.
The system just off the Gulf of Mexico will produce cloudy skies and spotty showers throughout the day, Storm Team 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Rain chances will climb to 50 percent later this afternoon, with highs only reaching the low-80s and lows in the mid- to upper-60s.
These conditions will remain in effect Friday, before skies begin to clear this weekend, producing drier air and cooler temperatures next week.
