Dense fog could make for a treacherous commute around the Tampa area this morning, ahead of another warm afternoon.
A dense fog advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. for Polk and counties to the south, but other areas in the immediate Tampa Bay area could see patchy fog – especially inland – News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
The fog should dissipate by mid-morning, leading to mostly sunny skies and highs in the low-80s, with lows tonight in the high-50s to low-60s.
Rain chances will climb starting Wednesday, but the highest rain chances come Thursday and Friday as a front moves in from the Gulf of Mexico.
Rain chances are 40 percent on Thursday, and 50 percent with a chance of severe storms on Friday.
