Another hot, steamy day is on tap for the Tampa Bay area today as increased moisture creates higher humidity and afternoon chances for rain.
A few showers could move onshore from the Gulf of Mexico this morning, but the rain mainly will form inland and move west this afternoon, News Channel 8 meteorologist Julie Phillips said.
After some morning patchy fog, chances for afternoon storms will reach 50 percent — a day after some areas around Tampa received some heavy, soaking rain.
Highs will reach 90 today, and the rain will taper off tonight, with lows dropping to the low- to mid-70s.
Drier conditions will help drop the chances of rain this weekend.
