A warm, wet morning turns into a chilly day and even colder evening in the Tampa Bay area, forecasters said.
Temperatures are expected to fall from the low 70s to the low 60s this afternoon when a cold front that brought rain to the area last night and this morning arrives, said Megan Hatton, Storm Team 8 meteorologist.
"We're looking at falling temperatures throughout the afternoon," Hatton said.
Overnight temperatures are expected to drop into the upper 30s and lower 40s, with patchy frost possible, Hatton said.
Sunday's high will only reach 61 degrees and the low will drop into the upper 40s on Monday morning before climbing up to 71 degrees by the afternoon.
Temperatures will warm up to the mid-70s on New Year's Day.
