It’s going to be hot and humid with a chance of heavy rain in the afternoon — par for the course this time of year in the Tampa Bay area — WFLA-TV meteorologist Bryan Bennett said.
After a clear, sunny start to Saturday, scattered showers will move through the area from 2 to 9 p.m. Not everyone will see those showers, but for those who do there is a possibility for heavy rainfall, damaging winds and frequent lightning, Bennett said.
Overall, there’s a 40 percent chance of rain across the Tampa Bay area today, Bennett said.
The afternoon high will be about 93 degrees, with a relative humidity of 70 percent.
Sunday will be more of the same, with a 40 percent chance of rain and a high of 91.
