Storms that dropped an inch of rain in parts of Pinellas County this morning will continue to move inland bringing rain to much of Tampa and western Hillsborough County by late morning and early afternoon, WFLA meteorologist Bryan Bennett said.
Overall there’s a 30 to 40 percent chance you’ll see some rain in the Tampa Bay area by this afternoon, Bennett said.
Luckily, those storms will continue to move inland, and will be mostly east of Interstate 75 by 2 p.m.
“It’s not a total washout for getting outside today,” Bennett said. “You’ll have plenty of opportunities to get out there between the storms.”
The afternoon high will be about 90 degrees.
Sunday will see more coastal storms early in the day, with rain moving inland by the afternoon. Overall though, Sunday will have less cloud cover and more sun, Bennett said.
