Commuters will have to deal with dense fog this morning, then rain as a cold front passes through the Tampa Bay area, causing temperatures to plummet on Friday.

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9 a.m., and some areas could see some drizzle today and scattered showers by this afternoon, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.

Highs today will be in the upper-70s, with an 80 percent chance of rain, and lows dropping into the upper-40s.

Friday’s highs will only reach the mid- to upper-50s under sunny skies, with brisk northerly winds, but the cold snap will be short-lived as highs on Saturday again will reach the low-70s.
