There could be some scattered showers in the Tampa Bay area on Independence Day morning, WFLA-TV meteorologists said. Overall there’s about a 50 percent chance of rain on the Fourth of July, with a higher rain chance in the coastal areas in the morning, and an increased chance of rain in the inland areas by the afternoon, meteorologist Steve Jerve said.

Most of that rain should be gone in time for fireworks, but a shower at that time can’t be completely ruled out, Jerve said.

Temperatures will reach a high of about 90 degrees by noon, dropping to the low 80s by 9 p.m,, when it’s prime viewing time for fireworks, Jerve said.
