Drier air will cut rain chances Monday

Scattered showers with pockets of heavy rain and some storms moved west across the Tampa Bay area Sunday afternoon, but they should wrap up by about 9 p.m., WFLA-TV meteorologist Julie Phillips says.

Overnight it will be partly to mostly cloudy with temperatures in the low to mid 70s, Phillips says.

Monday, drier air will begin to work its way into the Bay area, cutting down the chance for afternoon showers. The best chance of rain will be near the coast where the most moisture is available.
