Cold front drops temps, rain chances in Tampa area

Published:   |   Updated: September 27, 2013 at 06:30 AM

There will be lower humidity and slightly cooler air — and little chance for rain — in the Tampa Bay area today and through the weekend.

After a cold front has passed to the south, morning temperatures are nudging close to 70 in some areas in an early sign of fall.

Nightly temperatures will reach the high 80s, but tonight should be pleasant, with lows near 70 near the coast and high 60s inland, according to the National Weather Service.

And only a 10 percent chance of rain, a huge decrease from the previous four days.

The weekend will be much the same, although Sunday’s temperatures may rise a bit. Rain chances should stay low through the middle of next week, according to the weather service.
