A long-awaited cold front is passing through the Tampa Bay area, bringing isolated rain in some areas this morning but dry, pleasant conditions that will last well into the weekend.
Some spots are seeing light rain as the front, which was along I-4 early this morning, drifts to the south, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Skies are expected to clear by noon, with temperatures — and humidity — starting to fall this afternoon and dropping quickly tonight.
Highs will be in the low-80s today, with lows in the low-60s — and even in the 50s possible in some northern areas.
Some high clouds are possible on Thursday, but that temperature pattern, along with low humidity and cool breezes, will remain intact into the weekend. Warmer temperatures are expected to return at the start of the work week.
