A front that brought rain on Tuesday will work its way back into the Tampa Bay region today, increasing clouds and — coupled with a low-pressure system in the Gulf of Mexico — create stormy conditions heading into the weekend.
After a pleasant morning, clouds will build starting around noon as the front, which had sunk to the south, lifts back to the north, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Highs will climb past 80 with strong breezes from the northwest.
Some areas will start seeing rain this afternoon, carrying over into Friday, when an area of low pressure in the Gulf moves onshore. Heavy downpours are possible on Friday, but the region will begin to clear out Saturday, leading to a pleasant Easter Sunday.
