Once again, after a hot, sunny day, the Tampa Bay region should brace for potentially strong afternoon storms — a trend that will continue through the weekend.
After a sunny start, clouds will start to build around noon and storms will fire up starting around 2 p.m., News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Those storms could produce heavy downpours, frequent lightning and small hail.
The storms will ease tonight, leading to a partly cloudy night.
The highs will be around 90, with lows in the low-70s.
More of the same is expected through the weekend, with gradual drying next week.
