Summer-like conditions will remain in effect around the Tampa Bay area as muggy morning leads to a hot day and chance for afternoon thunderstorms. Highs today, and through the week, will reach the low 90s, with lows in the low- to mid-70s with partly cloudy skies and high humidity, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leign Spann said. There's a 40 percent chance for afternoon storms, starting just inland from the coast and moving west due to the Gulf seabreeze. Rain chances decrease later tonight, and rain chances will be slightly lower on Wednesday.
