Pedro Martinez pitched well against Vero Beach in a rehab start Wednesday night, but David Price was even better.

The Rays' prized prospect shut down Martinez's St. Lucie teammates, allowing two hits in six scoreless innings. Price struck out nine and didn't walk a batter to keep his career ERA at 0.00 after two starts.

Martinez, who is expected to start Tuesday for the Mets after missing two months with a strained left hamstring, matched Price's six innings, but he allowed four hits and two runs in the fourth. That was all Vero Beach needed for a 2-0 victory.

Another Rays prospect whose star has faded a bit, Wade Townsend followed Price with two scoreless innings, getting strikeouts for all six outs he recorded.
