Boat Checks Offered During Boater Safety Push At Williams Park

TAMPA - To improve boater safety, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office marine unit deputies are offering volunteer boat safety inspections Saturday at Williams Park boat ramp in Riverview.

Inspections will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The park is at 9425 U.S. 41.

Boats must be on trailers.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue will be on hand to provide information on sun exposure, dehydration, the effects of alcohol and fire safety.

Marine unit vessels and county fire vessels will be at the dock for public viewing.

Participants will receive validation inspection decals and whistles. There will be goodies for children. Zephyrhills water will provide one bottle of water for each person on each inspected vessel.
