NEED TO KNOW: This is the Bulls' first game against the nation's No. 1-ranked team. USF has never beaten a team ranked in the Top 10. ... Despite the Bulls' slow start in conference play, USF remains in contention for a top-12 Big East finish and a spot in the league tournament. ... The Bulls are 0-5 this season when scoring less than 60 points and UConn allows only 47.1 points per game. ... The Huskies are allowing opponents to shoot only 30 percent, while the Bulls rank third-to-last in the Big East, shooting 38.4 percent from the field. ... USF visits Louisville on Saturday, before returning home to host No. 23 DePaul on Tuesday.

NEED TO KNOW: Spartans G Brittany Ridley has given Tampa a boost off the bench the past two games. After scoring 12 points against Florida Southern on Wednesday, she scored a career-high 14 against Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday. Ridley did that in only 13 minutes, and Coach Tom Jessee said at the start of the season that he needed more players to contribute off the bench if UT is expected to advance in postseason action. ... Lynn is slumping into this key Sunshine State Conference matchup, having lost two straight games after opening league play 4-0. In both losses the Knights have shot sluggishly in the first half, averaging a combined 28 percent in the first half of both games.

RECORDS: Tampa 12-4 (5-2 Sunshine State Conference); Lynn 11-7 (4-3)

NEED TO KNOW: The Spartans return to Sunshine State Conference play after drilling Palm Beach Atlantic in nonleague action, 76-47. The Spartans took advantage of a 39-18 halftime lead to open up their bench and rest their starters most of the game. Jeremy Black scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds in just 16 minutes of action. Only one Spartan failed to score a point. ... Lynn is coming off a disappointing loss to Nova Southeastern. The Knights are inexperienced in the backcourt, with two freshmen - Michael Baptiste and Chris Hall - manning starting spots. Senior F Hans Schur of Denmark leads the Knights in scoring with 15.1 points per game.
