NEED TO KNOW: Tampa Bay could make a move up the USSF Division II standings with a win against Minnesota, which sits one place and one point ahead of the Rowdies. ... The Rowdies will be without five players because of injuries, including co-leading scorer Aaron Wheeler (stress reaction) and key midfielder Jeremy Christie (concussion-like symptoms). ... F Andre Akpan, acquired on loan from the Colorado Rapids this week, is expected to start. ... Minnesota went 3-1-1 in June, but lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace Baltimore last Sunday. ... The Stars and Rowdies are meeting for the third time this season, with Minnesota winning 1-0 at home in April and Tampa Bay winning 3-1 at home in May. ...
