ST. PETERSBURG -

In his first game back from bereavement leave following the death of his mother-in-law, FC Tampa Bay coach Ricky Hill watched as his son, Shane Hill, scored the go-ahead goal in a 3-1 win over FC Edmonton at Al Lang Stadium on Wednesday night.

Shane Hill gave FC Tampa Bay (6-6-6, 24 points) a 2-1 lead in the 60th minute with his first goal of the season, a goal the coach said was probably more for Shane's grandmother than Shane himself.

"He'll be very delighted tonight that he scored the goal which enabled us to then go on and win the game quite comfortably," Ricky Hill said. "His grandma has passed away in Jamaica two weeks ago now and I guess … for him that would be more of a tribute for her than in would be in fact for himself."

FC Tampa Bay opened the scoring in the sixth minute with its fastest goal to date this season, courtesy of Aaron King's sixth of the season and fifth in his past five games.

Alex Semenets pulled FC Edmonton (7-7-4, 25 points) level in the 28th minute after a goalkeeping mistake by Jeff Attinella, who gave away possession deep in FC Tampa Bay territory.

Shane Hill's goal in the 60th minute put FC Tampa Bay ahead before Millien got himself on the score sheet in the 84th minute to secure the win.
