Rays Triple Play: Fans for life

Any babies born on Monday — Opening Day — at Bayfront Hospital’s Baby Place will receive four tickets to all future Rays home openers as part of the “Rays Fan For Life” program. On Tuesday, each baby will receive a gift package delivered by a Rays player and Raymond. Later in the season, the babies and their parents will be invited to Tropicana Field, where the babies will be inducted into the Rays Fan for Life program.

Kelly’s good deed

Kelly Nash, the Rays’ reporter for Sun Sports, will deliver 20 stuffed toys and 28 other items today to kids at the Children’s Place in Tampa.

Nickname of the day

“The Buntist.”

That’s how UTL Sean Rodriguez referred to OF Matt Joyce before Thursday’s game. It was a reference to Joyce bunting against the shift Wednesday night for a hit against the Orioles.
