The Tampa Bay Rays have added 1980s rockers Joan Jett and the Blackhearts to their 2014 Summer Concert Series.
The band, known for such hits as “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll,” “Crimson and Clover” and “Bad Reputation,” will perform following the Rays’ 4:10 p.m. game on July 12 against Toronto at Tropicana Field.
The concert is free with the purchase of a game ticket, and fans can purchase field access at the Rays’ website.
In addition to touring with the Blackhearts, Jett has gained acclaim as a record producer. The band’s latest album, “Unvarnished,” was released last fall.
A version of Jett’s “I Hate Myself for Loving You” also is performed by Carrie Underwood as the theme song for “NBC’s Sunday Night Football.”
