PORT CHARLOTTE – This afternoon’s Rays-Orioles game has been rained out.

Those holding tickets for the game at Sarasota’s Ed Smith Stadium can exchange them for remaining game this spring or get a refund.

David Price, who was scheduled to start for the Rays, threw a simulated game. He pitched the first inning at Charlotte Sports Park then moved to a mound in the indoor batting cage when the storm finally reached Port Charlotte.

The Rays return to action Friday in Dunedin when they play the Blue Jays. Alex Cobb is scheduled to start.

It is the first of six televised games the Rays will play this spring (it will be televised in Canada), so it will be the first time they get to used replay.
