Right fielder Wil Myers (right wrist fracture) could rejoin the Rays next week during the series with the Tigers, Rays Manager Joe Maddon said.
In 12 plate appearances with Triple-A Durham spanning three games, Myers is 4-for-9 with three walks, a grand slam and three stolen bases.
Maddon said he would like Myers to have between 20 and 30 at-bats before he returns.
“It could be longer than that. Once he says he’s seeing the (fastball) well and feeling good, that should be about it,” Maddon said. “Maybe by Detroit. It’s not impossible to see that happening. There’s no rush.”
