Top Prep Soccer Performers

BOYS

Michael Connell, Steinbrenner – After helping Steinbrenner avenge its only loss of the season with two assists and a goal in a Berkeley Prep Invitational win against Newsome, the midfielder helped the Warriors win the tourney final against Palmetto with two goals and an assist.

Alan Hackney, King – The senior forward had a goal in the Lions’ win against Robinson in the opening match of the King Invitational on Monday, and he had both goals in a 2-2 draw with Freedom on Tuesday.

Blake Rehl, Hillsborough – The junior is the team scoring leader with 11, after a hat trick in Hillsborough’s Berkeley tourney win against Bloomingdale. He added a pair of assists in the Terriers’ 2-1 win against Wharton on Tuesday.

GIRLS

Julia Lester, Holy Names – The Jaguars sophomore scored a goal against Indian Rocks and two goals against Admiral Farragut in AHN’s last two wins and has 13 goals and six assists for the Class 2A-District 9 top seed.

Lexi Oeth, Wharton – The senior had her sixth multi-goal match of the season on Tuesday, scoring a pair as the Wildcats topped Hillsborough 4-1.

Alex Wenrich, Durant – Off a throw-in, Wenrich scored the decider against East Bay on Tuesday. The senior has been a force in the midfield, especially on takeaways for the Cougars.
